Press release / 13 May 2019

Neste, Neste Engineering Solutions and NAPCON are hosting the Hydrocarbon Processing’s IRPC EurAsia (International Refining and Petrochemicals Conference) in Helsinki, Finland between 4th and 7th of June 2019.

The event will be held for the first time in the Nordic countries, taking place in Scandic Marina Congress Center in Helsinki, Finland. The IRPC starts with a half-day workshop and lunch on 4 June featuring interesting and current topics such as the future of plant-wide optimization, a panel discussion on transformation strategies for refineries and petrochemical plants changing European market place (circular economy and sustainability), planning energy efficiency for the future and a digitalized learning path including gamified simulation.

The main seminar will be opened on 5 June with a keynote speech from Neste’s President and CEO, Peter Vanacker, who will be speaking about ‘Transforming a business for a low-carbon society’. This interesting presentation is an insight into how Neste has turned its business into a leading provider of renewable products and how the company aims to be a global leader in renewable and circular solutions.

– We are happy to host this prestigious event for the first time in Finland and in the Nordic countries. Neste’s unique refinery in Kilpilahti industrial park with modern production and status as the leading renewables producer will surely be an interesting combination for Heads of Production and other production managers and technical experts, says Patrick von Essen, Managing Director, Neste Engineering Solutions.

Neste Engineering Solutions and NAPCON will hold several presentations also in the main seminar such as advanced methods to improved fuels, new trends in operator training, improving energy efficiency by column heat integration with a heat pump in a petrochemical plant, Kilpilahti area in transformation towards bio-and circular economy and a case study on how artificial intelligence predicts process behavior and suggests operator actions.

Neste will organize a refinery tour to visit Neste and Borealis production plants on 7 June in Kilpilahti, Porvoo showcasing unique integrated refinery-petrochemical production.
